My Room of the Week: Art at the Hampton Designer Show House
As is my usual fashion, I have chosen some rooms where I think the art makes the space. This year the designers in the Hampton Designer Showhouse selected some terrific art.
Elissa Grayer explains that the large painting in the stair hall by Yolanda Sanchez inspired her entire scheme for the foyer of the show house, seen in the photo above.
In my opinion, the painting by artist Josette Urso , sourced by Patricia Fisher for her great room, provides the perfect focal point. Heart the color pop among the neutral tones of the room.
And while there is much to love about Brian Patrick Flynn's den (#myhappyplace), his choice to include a pair of works by artist Sally King Benedict adds immeasurable sophistication to the space.
Robert Brown's library would not be the same without the wonderful collection of photography.
Finally, if you have tried it, you know that assembling a gallery wall to make a pleasing arrangement plus showcasing the art is not an easy feat. Designer Denise McGaha conjured up a masterful placement of lovely art for the gallery wall in her bedroom.
