RIGHT NOW: Florence Broadhurst
Some question whether she actually designed anything at all. I think that while others may have executed her ideas, the designs issued under her name stemmed from her vision. I draw this conclusion because her company fell apart after her murder--without her direction, the business could not be sustained.
Regardless of what you think about Florence Broadhurst's checkered past, the designs attributed to her are eye catching, unique and enduring, so much so that the company Surya, a leader in the home accessories market, launched several new lines featuring her designs at this spring's High Point Market. You can now find her glorious colors and patterns adorning bedding, rugs and pillows, once again proving the relevancy of design history and how it inspires design today.

Then, please let me know if you think she is responsible for these designs or whether she was simply crafty enough to capitalize on others' work. You can comment right here, or on twitter, Facebook or Google plus ---- any social media channel works for me! I would love to know your views.
