5 Favorites from KBIS
Vegas baby Vegas! Last month I traveled to Nevada as an Influencer with the Designhounds to attend the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), North America’s largest trade show dedicated to all aspects of kitchen and bath design. I loved seeing my old friends and fabulous new products. I have been traveling as an Influencer with the ‘hounds since 2012, posing in bathtubs from the start—although I will say that this one by Compac is a true beauty. (Compac is a maker of innovative solid surface material. Go to my Insta @lynnbyrnenyc to see how they fabricated that tub.)
Of course while at KBIS, I saw amazing things that set my serial renovator’s imagination wild. Settle in for my 5 favorites.
1. Environmentally Friendly Mr. Steam
Having enjoyed a Mr. Steam shower in my own home, I can personally attest to the health benefits. Your complexion glows, your sinuses are clear and, most importantly, you are CHILLED OUT!
What I learned at KBIS this year is that a Mr. Steam shower is super beneficial for our environment. A steam shower uses less than 2 gallons of water for a 30 minute steam!! Compare that to the 70 gallons it takes to fill your tub for a long soak. Earth needs us to start steaming!
2. Furry Friends
Putting the dog house outside is so last decade. Major companies, like Elkay and Thermador are developing concepts and products dedicated to the comfort of our furry friends. Elkay has created a luxury bath for your four-legged family members. Put one near your back door or in the garage. And why not have an undercounter fridge and microwave from Thermador to store and prepare all of their treats. Pet parents everywhere will be delighted.
3. Kohler Lighting
Brilliant. Kohler has launched its first lighting line shining a new level of glamour on our kitchens and baths.
4. Elkay’s All-Inclusive Kitchen Sink
Putting real heart into our kitchens, Elkay has developed a highly functional, attractive and ADA compliant kitchen sink to meet the needs of all, with an easily accessible ledge for soap, sponges and the like.
5. Modern Farmhouse
Playing to a look that is not going anywhere, Kohler’s new black apron front sink gives designers and homeowners another way to create a country farmhouse kitchen with a modern edge. A reveal for hooks to hang dish towels or pot holders is imminently practical.
Equally attractive is this free standing sink, also offered by Kohler.
Bonus Eye Candy
I will leave you with this ultra lavish kitchen designed by Richard Anuszkiewicz featuring Monogram appliances. Richard, my fellow Designhound, is one to watch!

KBIS, Compaq, Mr. Steam and Thermador were among the sponsors who funded my trip to Las Vegas and KBIS. All opinions are my own.
