NEW DISCOVERY: Spotting Style at the Spring 2014 High Point Market

If I was one of High Point Market's designated Style Spotters (I am not), I would have been able to drop my calling card all over this under-the radar showroom.  And this is not a sponsored post.

The company, Bolier, has showrooms in London, Paris, New York (at the New York Design Center)  and High Point, with representation in 4 continents.  Boiler  offers  furniture inspired by the best classical forms, reinterpreted by a select group of designers in a fresh, modernistic way.  They only use the finest materials.

Yet, when I asked my blogging and designer colleagues, no one was familiar with the name, nor had they ever visited the showroom at High Point. Pity, because the showroom, located on an upper floor,  is lit by a ring of clerestory windows and skylights that provided beautiful natural light (an element solely missing from most showrooms) that displayed the furniture in a gorgeous way.

What drew me in?  An email.  Hardly believable because, as any High Point Market attendee can attest, one's mailbox is flooded with emails from vendors leading up to market.  Somehow this particular email caught my attention. Why?  This email promoted Bolier's Rosenau collection stating that the collection was inspired by Biedermeier furniture. Yep,  Biedermeier, again--it is surely having a moment!

This time, however, it appeared that the furniture, while inspired by the past was truly interpreted in an innovative way. And when I visited Bolier to check it out, I found the showroom filled with chic, sexy furniture--just the type of stuff I am looking for to furnish our future New York City apartment.

Take a look and let me know if you agree.

This sofa has such a sexy shape with its slightly curved form. And we all know how hard it is to find a good coffee table. Bolier had several.  This grid form could work in many decor schemes.

Here is another great coffee table. The channel upholstered back chairs would pair well with the sofa above.

This sofa makes camel back chic with just a hint of a swoop.  The bolster pillows pack an added stylish punch.

If I could have fit this coffee table with its lucite base and stone top  in my suitcase I would have.

There were several great home office and book storage pieces at Bolier--something I will surely need in my next home.

I know my hubs will want to hang a flat screen TV on the wall someplace in our next apartment.  I can deal with it, if it goes above a credenza as elegant as this one.

As for that Biedermeier, while the company offers it in a dark finish, it much more fresh and modern in their newly introduced white finish.

Expect me to be shopping Bolier's showroom in the New York Design Center next spring when it comes time to furnish my new NYC pad.  And you High Point Style Spotters, here is a new showroom to visit--just remember you heard it here first!
