Portiere
If you are going to walk the walk, you should talk the talk.
What is a portiere?
PORTIERE: (Rhymes with affair). Derived from “porte,” the French word for door. Think drapery for doors. Specifically, a portiere is a curtain that hangs over a door or over a doorless entry to another room.
Portieres were common in wealthier households during the Victorian era both for decoration and to keep out drafts.
Many designers use portieres today to define spaces, create privacy, and to add a touch of elegance. Have a look at some examples.
